FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

IN HORTICULTRE AND TEXTILE & GARMETS

SheTrades in The Gambia convenes public-private platforms to performance and offering, to strengthen the technical and production capacity of womenowned businesses, and enhance business and market linkages. By participating in SheTrades in The Gambia you can enhance your visibility and get easily connected with potential buyers, investors, suppliers and business support organizations. Moreover, you can increase your skills and knowledge to grow your business through webinars, face-to-face workshops and one-on-one coaching. Additionally, you will receive support to participate in regional and international trade fairs as well as in buyer and seller meetings. Up to 20 entrepreneurs in each sector will be selected as part of this cohort. All applicants are expected to commit to at least 2 days per month from January 2020 to December 2020 where they attend trainings and trade fairs, host company visits, plus additional time to implement learnings, further develop their products, and make changes in their businesses.



ELEGIBILITY CRITERIA
  • Be at least 30% women-owned, managed & controlled
  • Be majority Gambian owned
  • Be a registered businesses in The Gambia
  • Be active in the horticulture value chain (incl. processing of horticultural goods into juice, oils, dried foods, animal feeds or cosmetics & product aggregation and marketing)
  • Be active in the textiles & garments production value chain (incl. design, weaving, construction, tying, dyeing, cotton growing etc.)
  • Have at least 2 employees

Summary of your business (1-3 pages) illustrating that your business meets the criteria outlined above
The application documents should be filled, signed, and submitted by email to SheTradesGambia@intracen.org
Deadline for submission of applications is Monday 2nd December 2019 at 11.59 pm. Selected women-owned businesses will be invited to an interview at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment in December 2019.
